Play

is the work of childhood

- Mr. Rogers

Afterschool

WIGGLES & GIGGLES afterschool will provide care for students after school hours or during school breaks.  During scheduled school breaks our afterschool program will run during normal daycare hours.

Homework help will be provided for afterschool students who would like to complete their work.

Our afterschool program will also feature a “mentor program.”  Older students (10-12 year olds) may sign up to become a mentor for our younger afterschool students.  They will have the opportunity to assist as a reading buddy, homework helper and other tasks.  Allowing students to become a mentor not only gives them a sense of purpose and place in their class but helps to create a positive community classroom.  This also helps develop a sense of pride in students that are mentoring as well as and opportunity for the younger student to feel included.  A mentor student’s role is largely friendship and personal support.

We know that some of our younger afterschool students may be tired after a long day of school, cots will be available for any child who needs to rest when they get off the bus.

Afterschool snack will be provided, and for full day care all meals will be provided by the center.

Full day care will consist of fun and educational themes, lesson plans and activities. Community projects may be planned such as baking treats for a local animal rescue or collecting clothes and supplies to donate to a shelter or organization. These activities again are designed to promote a sense of pride and accomplishment in school age children.
